Shopify and TikTok Partnership; a new move towards E-Commerce

TikTok is the short-form video forum where people love to share their stuff with others. It is one of the popular apps developed by Chinese developers. But, it is still under the security of the U.S due to Chinese ownership. Instead of all these restrictions, it is moving towards the marketplaces to buy more stuff and enhance its worth. And yeah! It is known as business. About 2 days ago, TikTok made an exclusive deal with Canadian based platform Shopify. It enabled merchants to create shoppable videos of their stuff and it will drive the young TikTok users to online stores.

Shopify announced that it is starting a new channel on TikTok that will collaborate with the social media platforms to create new commerce features over the next few months. This app will be worth it for both of the platforms. It will help Shopify’s over 1 million merchants to international reach. This partnership will add in-app, shopping features. According to this agreement, all the Shopify merchants would be able to manage their TikTok campaigns directly from their Shopify’s dashboard by installing a new TikTok Channel. After finishing installing, they will get access to the basic function from Tik Tok for Business Ads Manager at their disposal.

With the help of ad tools, merchants will create shareable and native videos that will show their products in the local feeds of people all over the world. In this way, they will reach desirable audiences and track their campaign performance step by step. The cost of the campaign will vary according to the business category and their need. The budget of merchants will decide how much they want to spend and get back? There is an additional tool known as TikTok Pixel, the tool that will help merchants to track the conversions by their TikTok campaigns. In this way, they will get to know whether it is worth investing or not in this partnership campaign.

Kanwar said that ‘’ The TikTok channel means Shopify merchants- even those without a strong TikTok following of their own yet – can connect with these new audiences using content that feels authentic and genuine to the TikTok experience.’’

We also heard from TikTok’s side in a prepared statement on Tuesday that ‘’ Perfect partner helps us to grow and expand our commerce capabilities globally.’’

Apart from all the clashes of the Chinese government with the U.S, they are making their way to get the benefits from the U.S people too. Like the CEO of Walmart, Doug McMillon stated that ‘’ If you are watching a Tik Tok video and somebody’s got a piece of apparel or an item on it that you really like, what if you could just quickly purchase that item?’’ He added that ‘’ That’s what we are seeing happen in countries around the world. And it is   intriguing to us, and we would like to be part of it.’’

We see this step as a smooth move from the Tik Tok side. They are already dealing with many online shopping platforms and collaborating with many other social media platforms. Ignoring all the restrictions, they are simply doing their business.
